Our History

The Canadian Institute of Management is Canada's senior management association. It was chartered in 1942 by a group of managers to increase opportunities for professional development. Currently there are 17 Branches across Canada. Our mission is to promote management and its professional applications.

Institute Profile

We are a management and educational organization, located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Our membership consists of 128 members.

The Hamilton Branch services the regions of Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton, Haldimand-Norfolk and the City of Brantford. We are also a member of Ontario Western Region consisting of five branches located in South Western Ontario. We provide two certificate programs, leading to Certified in Supervisory Management (CSM) and Certified in Management and Administration (C.I.M.). These programs are given at Mohawk College, located in Hamilton, Ontario. They are also available as correspondence courses. Branch Activities

Dinner Meetings are held 3 times a year. These meetings offer a wide variety of interesting managerial topics with first rate speakers. Our next Dinner meeting will be our Annual General Meeting to be held on May 17, 2012. You can find more information on our next dinner meeting here.

We held the 2010 National Conference in Hamilton..

Activities at our branch include Student Feedback Night, Fun Night, Dinner Meetings, Golf Tournaments, Networking Nights and Executive Meetings. Click here for our 2011 - 2012 Calender of Events.

Our Annual General Meeting was held in May 19, 2011. At that time we elected a new Board of Directors and presented our members on course with their CSM Certificates.

The 2011 Graduation Ceremonies were held at our Branch Annual General Meeting..
